About

Trike is a stunt/trick racing game inspired by Uniracers, built around a fictional vehicle with real personality: the trike. A powerful hydraulic mechanism on the single front wheel lets it flip forward, bunny hop, and launch by bouncing. The vehicle can freely reverse its orientation — single wheel in front or in back — and at its center sits a spherical driver pod on a gimbal, staying upright and forward-facing no matter what the frame around it is doing. The visual contrast between vehicle chaos and driver calm is the heart of the game.

Races run through fantastical terrain — volcanic crucibles, forking crossroads, void landscapes with crystal and aurora surfaces — with trick and stunt scoring layered over racing.

Development

Trike is built on the Flint engine (included as a git subtree) using its edit → render → play loop: scenes and track splines are TOML, gameplay is Rhai scripts (kart controller, chase camera, race manager, HUD), and every visual change is validated with headless PNG renders before being played. The repo’s root is littered with regression renders — flip tests, quaternion tests, oval laps — used as visual checkpoints during physics work.
