About

Small Talk is an experimental narrative game about navigating a party full of monsters. Make conversation, explore surreal environments, and discover what it means to connect — or fail to — with the strange creatures around you.

The game blends life simulation with artgame sensibilities, creating an experience that’s equal parts cozy and unsettling.

Co-created with Gabrielle Genevieve.

The Party

You’ve arrived at a gathering where the guests aren’t quite human. Each monster has their own personality, their own anxieties, their own way of making small talk. Your choices shape the conversations and determine how the night unfolds.

Visual Style

Built in Unity with characters and environments modeled in Blender, Small Talk features a surreal 3D aesthetic with stylized character designs. The world feels slightly off — proportions shift, colors dream, and nothing is quite what it seems.

Themes

  • Coming of Age — The awkwardness of growing up, of not quite fitting in
  • Meaningful Choices — Conversations that matter, silences that speak
  • Exploration — A party that’s bigger on the inside than the outside
